Suspend

Today commences Advent, or what I call The Coming.  It’s four weeks of contemplation and waiting for the commemoration of the birth of Jesus, Christmas.  In contrast to the hustle and bustle of the cultural experience of the season, I’m dedicating 15 minutes each day until Christmas morning to silence.   I’ll  suspend words, distractions, judgements and requests and simply be present.  Present with myself and with the spirit.  I’m layering this time with my signature essential oil blend, Suspend.  I welcome and would love to have a community of people join me on my journey.

  A meditation.

The Word became flesh and lived among us.

The Word refers to Jesus.

The Word was the Light, the Light  shines light in the darkness but the darkness does not always recognize it.

The Light is always present for us.  Regardless of creed, Jesus, in spirit, called the Holy Spirit, is present and available.

The spirit  turns the lights on during dark times, the spirit provides strength and courage during crisis, the spirit provides a way when we cannot see a way.

How?

Great question.

Through the hands and feet, lips and ears and kindness of others.

The spirit uses the skin of others to reach out to us.

It’s how the word becomes flesh among us.

Real-time actions that impact our situation.

Grace and love delivered in practical ways.

A meal, a card, a  visit, a call, accompanying us to a medical appointment.

Showing up when we need someone to show up.

Maybe you have people in your life who appear as the Word with flesh.

Unexpected encounters.

A timely word.

A supernatural understanding.

A hit from our intuition.

Love/Light is the energy behind these interactions.

Love is patient and kind, never demanding, never rude.

Always present.

Always available.

I’m thankful for the presence of the Light.

The Light is first and foremost

Unbridled L O V E.

For you and me.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

I’m ready and willing to bask in this Light and Love during the next four weeks.

Will you join me?

I’d love to know if so, click here to email or let me know by commenting at the end of this post.

  • Dana, this is an absolutely exquisite post. I am going to be gifting our minister Suspend. She encouraged us this morning commit to a quiet time each day during Advent and be open to the angels that surround us bringing beauty, truth and fire (as in passion). I’m going to provide a copy of your post with Suspend. Thank you for gifting us readers with your beautiful and centering words. You are an angel Dana.
