✅ In the USA, we are in between administrations with a tremendous amount of polarity. 
 
✅ We are in between the challenges and restrictions of COVID-19 and the hopes of the vaccine.  
 
✅ We are in between working from home and whatever the new workplace will look like. 
 
Transitions are scary. We still don't know the micro and global impact of the 2020 health and economic crisis. How do we navigate the in-between?

    Once upon a time, we were in Costa Rica at the Bod Once upon a time, we were in Costa Rica at the Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort, practicing yoga, sharing life and growing together. We all remember, no masks, no distance, no worry.  
 
2020 was going to be the year I launched regular Kaiut Yoga classes in Chicago.  
 
The weekend prior to the Chicago lockdown, I held my first in-person Kaiut Yoga Workshop with 20 students.  
 
You all know how the story ends. Chicago stayed in lockdown for months. Yoga studios were forced online in service to clients and their businesses.  
 
Our world has changed and we do not yet know how the dust will settle but we all must adapt and change. 
 
I am adapting my plans from teaching Kaiut Yoga in-person to collaborate with @FranciscoKaiut and the  @KaiutYoga online community.  
 
In March 2020, Francisco began offering Kaiut Yoga classes online for the first time due to the lockdowns. I jumped on the opportunity to take classes from him daily.  
 
During 2020, I did Kaiut Yoga daily Monday-Friday and it was a game-changer. It provided the structure and routine I needed to be on my mat daily in a virtual community. It helped me ground myself in my body, be present with my thoughts and feelings and care for my nervous system during unprecedented times.  
 
I love Kaiut Yoga because it benefits the whole mind, body, soul system by tapping into the nervous system. While on our yoga mats, we bring a constant state of mental presence while feeling everything happening in the body to create coherence and harmony. This, my friend, is a beautiful healing process.  
 
Some of the benefits of Kaiut include: 
Neutralizes emotions like anxiety, anger, and depression 
Calms the mind 
Improves range of motion 
Improves concentration 
Increases blood flow to damaged tissue 
Improves immunity through increased blood flow and a calmer nervous system 
Creates coherent heart rate variability

    I did something that scared me for 8 months...  I did something that scared me for 8 months... 
 
And now I love it! 
 
2020 was an invitation for me to shed my fear of being on video. 
 
I was an extremely shy child and would hide behind my mom most of the time. As I grew older, I became socially comfortable, but I also didn't seek attention in a major way. 
 
This has been an interesting pattern to shift.  
 
I was paralyzed by the thought of putting myself on video until the pandemic hit. It suddenly became imperative for me to blow past my fear, because I knew I had a significant amount of value to share with and support my community. 
 
My IG Live series has been so rewarding. The opportunity to connect with you all while we've been isolated has pushed me to think of ways to step outside of my comfort zone and become a more innovative coach. 
 
In 2021, I’m going to continue leaving this fear behind!

    I’m excited for this new journey.    Even th I’m excited for this new journey. 
 
Even though I do yoga regularly, I left my strength training behind in 2020. In 2019 I started training with @thebethhorn and I felt my strength and tone improve. After her gym closed, I tried to self motivate at home but I haven't been successful.  
 
This is an area of my overall health that isn’t where I’d like it to be. As we age, our lean muscle mass naturally diminishes. Strength training is one of the more important practices to feel younger while growing older.   
 
Strength training is bone, heart and hormone protective. It helps increase bone density, reduce fractures, improve range of motion, and decrease the risk of disease. 
 
As I get older, I'm excited to feel younger by embarking on this aspect of my health!
