Exit the Graveyard, Quickly
Easter has come and gone but I want to share my Easter morning surprise. When the women returned to the cave where they expected to find the body of Jesus.
#1 There was no body.
#2 There was an angel who asked them a simple question. "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?"
I had to ask myself the same question. Am I looking for the living among the dead? Do you remember my post "Who Are You Today?" The concepts apply. What was is dead.
Where are you expecting to find the living among the dead in your life? It's a waste of precious time. What relationships, situations, aggravations, expectations from the past do you need to let go (my friend calls this "L-Go") in order to discover the beauty of what is alive in the now?
What do we gain by roaming around in the graveyard of the past?
Jesus' followers wanted to hold onto the security of having him in their now but he died and created a whole new way of experiencing a relationship with him. His followers would have to tap into their 6th sense which I call the spirit or intuition and "L-Go" what they could see in the physical world in order to gain access to the spirit world where Jesus would be found living, not dead.
After his death, I think he felt he needed to comfort his posse so he returned in the physical world with the following message: "be at peace."
You see, this is cool. He knew their anxiety and because he was of the Spirit, he could return in physical form and speak to their fears. Unless you have experience in the movement between the spirit and physical world, this post may feel weird. No worries. Be at peace my friend.
How do we respond when our world changes? Peace is the response that allows us to move into the living and leave the dead behind.
I don't want to live in the land of the dead. I prefer to flourish in the land of the living.
Depending upon the situation this may require forgiveness of the past and acceptance of the future but it always requires a big "L-Go."
Letting go
May feel like a big leap of faith.
It may induce fear of the unknown.
Fear is good.
Fear motivates. Fear protects because it is a signal for action.
Fear has the power to move us toward the land of the living.
What graveyard are you roaming around in and what do you need to do to move quickly toward the exit?
The message is simple.
Be at peace.
Forgive what needs to be forgiven and accept the possibilities of what is to come.
