The Coming, December 1

Never underestimate the power of the female bond!

Any woman with a faithful girlfriend will pass through the fiery coals of hell and smell like a rose on the other side.

Together we overcome insurmountable obstacles.  Alone, we crumble…not always but more often than not.

Allow me a moment on my soapbox.

Here ye, here ye!  If you aren't experiencing the bond of the sisterhood, we need to talk.  Seriously.  We are not meant to do life alone.  We need each other like we need oxygen, water and yes, chocolate!

Mary must have known this instinctively because after her chat with the angel, she quickly fled to her cousin, Elizabeth's house; which was conveniently located a nice distance from Mary's home town.  She stayed there for several months.

We survive like Mary survived by calling upon our girlfriends.  There is one caveat.  If your friend's support keeps you stuck, it's time to move on.  Assuming you want to move through the fiery coals of hell towards your own personal brand of life that feels deLightFull!

I can't read about Mary hustling to get to her dear cousin Elizabeth without remembering the countless women who have stood by my side in troubling times.

Janeen, Neia, Jacinta, Soili, Ellen, Piper, Sue Squared, Jill, Kelly, Shelley, Jane, Stephanie, Piper, Carolina, Anna, Korey, Alison, Lauren, Holly, Dita, Kathleen, Dana, Lisa, Michele and the Circle of 12, Laura, Penny, Annette, Joy, Hillary, Angela,  Gerna, Paola, Wendy, Amy, Julie, Ligia,  Andie, my four amazing daughters and  last but certainly not least, my mother, Jeannetta and my grandmother, Gladys, who has moved onto to the other side.

By the way, if you get there before me, you will most likely find her square dancing in a frilly red dress!  She's not to  be missed!

Each of these women represent a precious gemstone on my priceless badge of courage that has allowed me to be the woman I am today.

Today is a celebration of the Sisterhood, ladies.

Instead of a gift list, make a sisterhood list this Advent.

Send a note or call and let them know how much you appreciate the gift of their friendship.
