Ylang Ylang and July

Ylang Ylang and July

FINAL_YlyangYylang_copyYlang ylang is called the “flower of flowers.”   The strikingly beautiful buds have welcomed bride and groom to the honeymoon bed for centuries, not to mention the aphrodisiac effect for those of us with a hankering for a floral aromatic palette.  It has universal blending appeal, combining well with most other oils.   It’s one of my “grab and go” oils because of my affinity for floral aromas and attraction to the support it offers.   July is a month that beckons it’s aromatic reinforcement of, but not necessarily, nor excluding, the romantic vein.

Ylang ylang  balances masculine and feminine energy, hormones and heart rate variability.   Accordingly,  I will be slathering, spritzing and smelling ylang ylang this month.

Let me say more.

Ylang ylang’s  exotic pose is not beneath supporting us humans during the month of July which has the potential for “growing pains”  the likes of toddler and teenage angst according to The Power Path Monthly Forecast by Lena Stevens.  (Do yourself a favor and sign up for the monthly forecast as it provides a wealth of information about the happenings of the natural and cosmic world and it’s interaction and impact on humans.)

I’m calling on Ylang Ylang to help balance these hormonal and emotional shifts and temptations as we are challenged and called to a higher level of maturity.  It’s time to quiet the ego’s demands for attention, martyrdom and full blown pity parties.

The way of the warrior (aka mature adult) is the way of owning your own actions, decisions, emotions, roles and responsibilities.

No more attaching your discomfort by blaming, pointing a finger ( or THE finger) to exterior circumstances, people, the government, global powers or organizations.   Seriously, listen to conversations, the temptation is to blame the weather (I own that one),  parents, employers, the President, behaviors of offspring  etc. on our every little complaint.  Blame is an energy buzz kill.  If we choose to blame, we become more rigid, the situation doesn’t change and we don’t mature.  Stagnation, at best, is the result.  However, we are more likely to destroy who we are destined to grow into because we deteriorate into a mired version of our real self.  Let it not be so with you.

July is a month to face our tempers, tantrums and tattle telling ways and experience expansion in a whole new way.  You are not a victim rather a mighty and powerful human capable of being a conduit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, appreciation and so forth and so on.

You might ask, what does that look like and how might I use ylang ylang as I face my inner toddler or teenager this month?

Notice what triggers you.

Why are you triggered?

What are your thoughts when you’re triggered?

What story are they telling you?  If it’s blame and projection outside yourself, say hello to your ego and tell him who is boss once and for all.

Tell yourself the truth about your roles, responsibilities, decisions, emotions etc.

Precisely that you are not a victim.  This is about owning your emotional backpack and forgiving past wrongs.  It’s about believing in miracles and the atonement.  There’s a chorus of angels ready to come to our aid if we simply ask.  That’s a mouthful.  If you’re dazed and confused.  My apologies.  If you want to talk further.  I’m happy to.

Don’t allow the ego to maintain the victim’s stance.  It’s unattractive.  Trust me.

If you have a past wound that remains opened and seething.   Call upon your adult self, invite the healing process and heal.  Don’t continue to harm yourself by ruminating over the past wound.  There is a time for everything under heaven. (nod to Solomon) A time of suffering and a time of healing and  a time of rejoicing.  My experience is that most people want to relive the painful past over and over again.  Be clear, that’s your choice.  The option to heal is available.  I believe you are capable of inviting this healing alone but normally we prefer a hand to hold.  The earth and heavens are full of healers.  My personal favorite is Jesus but there are others and many in human form.  I can almost bet you know at least one you could call upon.

July is a month of temptation.  Be careful.  Your thoughts will determine your emotions and actions and combined they will tell a story come August.  Will it be a story of cry baby victim or the triumphant warrior?

Ylang ylang is poised and ready.
